# Use SnapWidget with an AI agent

> Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor or another AI agent to SnapWidget. The agent can make your account, your widget and the code for your website.

An AI agent can set up SnapWidget for you. Ask it, for example: "Add my Instagram feed to my website." The agent can:

* Make your SnapWidget account.
* Connect your Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X and YouTube accounts.
* Make a widget, change its settings and show you a preview.
* Give you the widget code, or put it in your website files.
* Add your Google and G2 reviews to a review widget.
* Tell you how many people saw and clicked your widgets.

The agent works through the SnapWidget MCP server at `https://snapwidget.com/mcp`. The MCP server is on the Pro and Developer plans. When an agent makes a new account, you get a free 14-day Pro trial, with no card.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Some steps stay with you:
>
> * You enter the 6-digit code from the email that SnapWidget sends you. You type it on the SnapWidget sign-in page, or you give it to the agent when the agent signs you up with no browser.
> * You click **Allow** when Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or X asks you about SnapWidget.
> * You pay for a plan when you want to keep your Pro widgets after the free trial.

## Connect your agent

In every agent, you sign in on the SnapWidget sign-in page with your email address and the code from the email. New to SnapWidget? The code also makes your account, with a free 14-day Pro trial.

> [tab] Other agents
>
> Add `https://snapwidget.com/mcp` as a remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP). The agent signs in with OAuth, or sends a token in the header `Authorization: Bearer <token>`.
>
> To get a token, the agent can make your account with the sign-up API below. You can also make a token on the [API page](https://snapwidget.com/settings/api). An account with no password, for example one that an agent made, needs a password first: on the [Account page](https://snapwidget.com/settings/account), click **Email Me A Link**.

If you already have an account on the Free or Lite plan, the sign-in shows the plans instead of **Allow**, because the MCP server is on the Pro and Developer plans. After you choose Pro or Developer, connect your agent again.

If you use two-factor authentication, SnapWidget also asks for the code from your authenticator app. If you are already logged in to SnapWidget, it asks for your password again, or it sends a new email code when your account has no password.

## Sign up with no browser

An agent can make your account without a sign-in page, for example in a terminal. It needs your email address and the code from the email.

**1. The agent sends your email address**

```bash theme={null}
curl -X POST https://snapwidget.com/api/v1/signup \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"email": "you@example.com"}'
```

SnapWidget sends a 6-digit code to the address. The code works for 15 minutes.

**2. You give the agent the code**

The agent asks you for the code from the email.

**3. The agent sends the code**

```bash theme={null}
curl -X POST https://snapwidget.com/api/v1/signup/verify \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"email": "you@example.com", "code": "123456"}'
```

The answer has the token for the MCP server:

```json theme={null}
{
  "token": "eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJSUzI1NiJ9...",
  "token_type": "Bearer",
  "scopes": ["mcp:use"],
  "mcp_url": "https://snapwidget.com/mcp",
  "plan": "pro",
  "trial_ends_at": "2026-11-17T08:00:00+00:00",
  "message": "The SnapWidget account of you@example.com is ready, ..."
}
```

**4. The agent connects to the MCP server**

The agent sends the token in the header `Authorization: Bearer <token>`. The token works like a password, so keep it out of shared files and chats. In Claude Code, with the token in the environment variable `SNAPWIDGET_TOKEN`:

```bash theme={null}
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user snapwidget https://snapwidget.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer $SNAPWIDGET_TOKEN"
```

If you added snapwidget to Claude Code before, run `claude mcp remove snapwidget` first.

When the agent makes your account, you accept the [Terms of Service](https://snapwidget.com/terms) and the [Privacy Policy](https://snapwidget.com/privacy).

If the address already has a SnapWidget account, the email has no code. It tells you that the address has an account. Connect with the sign-in steps above instead, or make a token as **Other agents** explains.

## What the agent does next

The tools of the MCP server tell the agent what they do. A usual order:

1. `get_account` shows the plan, the end of the free trial and the limits.
2. `connect_account` adds a social account. It adds a YouTube channel at once from its link. For Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or X, it gives the agent a link for you. Open the link and click **Allow**.
3. `create_widget` makes the widget, and `update_widget` changes its settings. `preview_widget` shows the widget.
4. `get_embed_code` gives the widget code, with the steps for your website platform.

For reviews, the agent uses `find_google_business` and `add_review_source`. For views and clicks, it uses `get_widget_stats`.

Each plan has a number of tool calls a day. When the agent uses them all, the tool says when they start again.

## When the free trial ends

* Before the end, ask the agent for a payment link. The link opens the payment page with your email address filled in, and you do not need to log in. There is no second free trial: the first payment comes at the end of the free trial.
* After the end, your Pro widgets show "Your widget subscription needs to be updated" on your website instead of your posts, and your review widgets show "Your review widget subscription needs to be updated", until you pay for a plan. You do not have to change the code on your website.
* After the end, the agent can still read your account and give you the payment link. The other tools work again when you pay for the Pro or Developer plan.

An account that an agent made has no password. To use SnapWidget on the website, [log in with an email code](https://snapwidget.com/login/code).
