# What is SnapWidget and how does it work?

> SnapWidget shows your Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok and YouTube posts on your website and keeps them up to date.

SnapWidget shows posts from your social accounts on your website. You create a widget in your SnapWidget dashboard, copy its code, and paste the code into your website. After that, the widget shows your new posts on its own. You do not need to make a new widget when you post.

## What you can show

| Service | What you need |
| - | - |
| Instagram | A creator or business Instagram account |
| Facebook | Photos from a Facebook page or album |
| X (Twitter) | An X account. X widgets need a paid plan. |
| TikTok | A TikTok account. TikTok widgets need a paid plan. |
| YouTube | The link to your YouTube channel. YouTube widgets need a paid plan. |

> [!NOTE]
>
> Personal Instagram accounts no longer work. Instagram closed the API for personal accounts on December 4, 2024. [Switch to a creator account](/docs/instagram/switch-to-a-creator-account) first. It is free and takes a minute.

## Layouts

* **Grid**: rows and columns of posts.
* **Board**: a grid that also shows the account name and caption of each post.
* **Slideshow**: one post at a time.
* **Scrolling**: a row of posts that moves across the page.
* **Feed**: a feed of photos and videos that your visitors can scroll. Needs a paid plan.
* **Popup**: a small floating box that shows your latest Instagram post.

## How often your widget updates

Your widget checks for new posts on its own. Free widgets refresh every 15 minutes. Pro Instagram and Facebook widgets refresh every 5 minutes.
