# How do I ask customers for a review?

> Send customers a link or show a QR code. They write a testimonial on your own form, or a review on Google.

SnapWidget gives you a link and a QR code to ask customers for a review. A **Your reviews** source has a testimonial form. A Google source has a link to Google's review form.

## Ask for a testimonial

Your customers write a testimonial on your own form. They do not need an account.

**1. Open the source**

On the **Sources** page, click your **Your reviews** source. To make one, see [How do I add my own reviews?](https://snapwidget.com/docs/reviews/add-your-own-reviews.md)

**2. Set up your form**

Click **Set Up Your Form**. Type your business name. Make sure that **Form is on** is on, and click **Save**.

**3. Send your link**

Click **Copy Link**. For the QR code and a short text for an email, click **Share**. Then click **Download QR Code** or **Copy Text**.

A new testimonial waits for your approval. SnapWidget sends you an email, at most one a day for each form. See [Approve new reviews](https://snapwidget.com/docs/reviews/manage-reviews.md#approve-new-google-and-g2-reviews).

To show new testimonials at once, click the settings icon next to **Share** and turn on **Auto-approve**.

### Change your form

Click the settings icon next to **Share**. **Business name** is necessary, because your customers agree to show their testimonial to that business. Leave the other texts empty to use the standard text.

When the form is off, click **Set Up Your Form** to change it or to turn it on.

| Setting | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Form is on** | Turn it off to close the form. The link then shows a "not found" page. |
| **Auto-approve** | On: new testimonials show in your widgets at once. Off: they wait for your approval. |
| **Business name** | The name in the heading and in the consent line. |
| **Heading** | The heading of the form. |
| **Question** | The question above the text box. |
| **Thank-you text** | The text after your customer sends the form. |
| **Button color** | The color of the send button, for example `#2563eb`. |
| **Logo** | The image at the top of the form. |

Customers type their name and their testimonial. A rating, a job title, a company name and a photo are optional. Each customer must tick a box to agree that you can show the testimonial.

The form shows in English or Japanese, from the language of the browser. Your own texts show as you typed them.

## Ask for a Google review

**1. Open the source**

On the **Sources** page, click your Google source. To make one, see [How do I import my Google reviews?](https://snapwidget.com/docs/reviews/add-a-google-source.md)

**2. Send your link**

Click **Copy Link**. For the QR code and a short text for an email, click **Share**. Your customers go to Google's review form for your business.

Send the same link to all your customers. Google does not allow you to ask only happy customers for reviews.

New Google reviews come in at the next sync. See [New reviews](https://snapwidget.com/docs/reviews/add-a-google-source.md#new-reviews).
