# Why am I getting an error about off-Facebook activity being turned off?

> Meta blocks the connection to SnapWidget when your activity off Meta technologies is disconnected. Turn it back on, then connect again.

When you connect your Instagram or Facebook account, you can get an error like this:

```
OAuthException: Your account's future activity history off Meta technologies is currently turned off.
```

Older versions of the message call the setting "off-Facebook activity".

The error means that **Your activity off Meta technologies** is disconnected for future activity in your Meta settings. While it is disconnected, Meta does not let apps such as SnapWidget connect to your account.

## Turn the setting back on

**1. Open your Facebook settings**

On Facebook, click your profile picture in the top right. Click **Settings and privacy**, then **Settings**.

**2. Open Accounts Center**

Click **Accounts Center**, then **Your information and permissions**.

**3. Open the setting**

Click **Your activity off Meta technologies**, then **Manage future activity**.

**4. Connect future activity**

Select **Connect future activity** and confirm.

**5. Connect SnapWidget again**

Go back to your widget in SnapWidget. Click **Connect** (or **Reconnect**) next to **Username** and sign in again.

Change the setting on the Facebook profile that you sign in with. Meta can move these menus. If you cannot find them, see Meta's help page [Manage your future activity off Meta technologies](https://www.facebook.com/help/1224342157705160/).
