# How do I filter the content displayed in my widget?

> Use the Filter setting on a Pro Instagram or X widget to show posts with a hashtag, posts that tag you, or posts from a hashtag campaign.

The **Filter** setting chooses which posts your widget shows. It is on the **Basic** tab of Pro Instagram and X (Twitter) widgets.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Filter** needs a Pro widget. The hashtag options need the Pro or Developer plan. Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial. See the [pricing page](https://snapwidget.com/pricing).

## Set a filter

**1. Open your widget**

On your [dashboard](https://snapwidget.com/dashboard), click the widget.

**2. Choose a filter**

On the **Basic** tab, select an option in **Filter**. For a hashtag option, type the hashtag in **Hashtag** without the `#` sign.

**3. Save**

Click **Update Preview** to see the posts. Then click **Update & Get Widget** to save. You do not need to change the code on your website.

## Instagram filters

| Filter | What the widget shows |
| - | - |
| **None** | Posts from your account |
| **Hashtag Only (Top Media)** | The most popular public posts with the hashtag, from any account |
| **Hashtag Only (Recent Media)** | The newest public posts with the hashtag, from any account |
| **Hashtag Campaign** | Posts from people who joined your hashtag campaign. Select the campaign in **Hashtag Campaign**, or click **Click Here To Create Your First Campaign**. |
| **Hashtag and User** | Posts from your account that use the hashtag |
| **Mentions** | Posts in which other accounts tagged your account |

> [!WARNING]
>
> **Hashtag Only** and **Mentions** need an Instagram business or creator account that is linked to a Facebook page. Connect it with **Sign In With Facebook**. With **Sign In With Instagram**, **Hashtag Only** shows "This filter option is not supported", and **Mentions** shows your own posts instead. See [Instagram hashtag widget](/docs/instagram/hashtag-widget).

The Instagram **Feed** layout has no **Filter** setting.

## X (Twitter) filters

| Filter | What the widget shows |
| - | - |
| **None** | Posts from your account |
| **Hashtag Only** | Recent public posts with photos that use the hashtag, from any account |
| **User and Hashtag** | Posts from your account that use the hashtag |

See [X hashtag widget](/docs/x/hashtag-widget) for the full steps.
