# How do I link my photos to the Instagram page for each photo?

> Link each photo in a Pro widget to its Instagram post in a new tab, the same window or a popup with the Photo Link setting.

On a free widget, clicking a post opens a SnapWidget page, not your Instagram post. To link each photo to its own post on Instagram, you need a Pro widget. Pro widgets link to Instagram when you create them.

> [!NOTE]
>
> This needs a Pro widget. Pro widgets come with the Lite, Pro and Developer plans. Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial. See [Free and Pro widgets](/docs/getting-started/free-and-pro-widgets).

## Choose how the link opens

On the **Advanced** tab of a Pro widget, set **Photo Link** to one of these options:

| Photo Link | What happens on a click |
| - | - |
| **Instagram** | The post opens on Instagram in a new tab. |
| **Instagram Same Window** | The post opens on Instagram in the same window, in place of your page. |
| **Instagram Popup** | The post opens on Instagram in a small popup window. |

Then click **Update & Get Widget** to save.

## Upgrade a free widget that is on your website

If you have a paid plan, you can turn a free widget into a Pro widget. The code on your website keeps working.

**1. Open the widget**

On your [dashboard](https://snapwidget.com/dashboard), click the widget.

**2. Upgrade the widget**

Open the **Advanced** tab and click **Upgrade This Widget To Pro**.

**3. Check the Photo Link**

On the **Advanced** tab, check that **Photo Link** is **Instagram**. Then click **Update & Get Widget**.

On Facebook and X widgets, the same options link to the post on Facebook or X.
