Introducing SnapWidget 2.0

Published on May 19, 2016

Over the past 5 years SnapWidget has gone through a lot of changes. What started out as a small grid only widget solution for your Instagram photos evolved into a tool used by hundreds of thousands of websites to display, filter and promote their Instagram content.

We listened to our users and added more filter options, widget layouts, Google Analytics integration, moderation, custom CSS and various other ways of getting the most out of your widgets.

Since SnapWidget started in October of 2011 more than 1 million widgets was created, and 160,000 used actively every day on websites around the world.

This week we launched a completely rewritten version of SnapWidget. We still support embedding your Instagram photos on your website, and have also added support for Twitter photos. This has also laid the ground work for us to start including lots of other services that you can use to supercharge your website.

We made some changes to the way widgets are created, specifically the card layout used to showcase the available widgets. This will hopefully make it easier for you to find the exact widget you require for your site.

For those with a SnapWidget account, free or paid, you now have access to your own dashboard where all your configured widgets are grouped together for easy access and updating.

Editing a widget is also a much easier process now that you will be able to see exactly how your widget looks with content next to it. No more preview popups.

As part of these updates we are also moving away from using your Instagram account to log in to SnapWidget. All Pro user’s accounts has been migrated to the new system with the email address used when you signed up for your subscription. To log in to your account, simply visit the password reset page to request a new password.

Once you’re logged in you will have access to all your widgets you had configured before as well as an easy way of adding new ones.
