時計パーツを製作する時に使う、刃物を紹介します。
超硬合金と呼ばれる硬い素材で、ダイアモンドの砥石などで加工します。
ハイス鋼に比べ硬く、より硬い素材でパーツが作れます。切削面も綺麗に仕上がります。ただ、欠けやすい為、よくよく仕上げて使う必要があります。
例として、地板にネジが折れこんで、それを削り取る場合、少しでも刃が入らない感じがある時は、すぐにドリルを仕上げ直します。
硬い素材なだけに、ドリルが折れ込むと一番厄介です。
