「唐織」
唐織は、京都西陣を代表する伝統的な絹織物で、江戸時代の極めて装飾性の高い美術織物がその源流です。
装飾を目的としては、能楽の装飾禁中御用の特別な包裂、神社の戸帳、神輿の飾裂などに用いられ、美術織物としては名画や名筆を手本として作られた織物で原画の持つ筆致や雰囲気を織物の世界に変換再現することは至難ともいえる創作を可能にした京都西陣の織匠たちの飽くなき努力の賜です。
