【Information of Ginza】 “Brick ＆ Gaslight” Ginza.
銀座１丁目、高架下にある碑です。
1872年に起きた銀座大火により、築地にかけて、銀座は全焼しました。
その後の銀座は政府の国家予算で不燃性建築を用いて復興をいたします。
銀座は国文明化のシンボルとして、フランス積みの煉瓦建物が多く立ち並びました。
そして、街路照明にはガス燈が使用され、ハイカラな煉瓦通りができました。
難を転じて幸となした素晴らしい例です。
瀟洒な街の歴史って素敵ですね♪
