陶板レリーフ壁画であるこの作品は、1972年に新大阪駅から岡山駅間で運行が開始された山陽新幹線の岡山駅に、地元の山陽放送が岡本太郎に依頼して制作されました。
壁画は、未来へと向かう社会の高揚感を写しとるかのように、輝かしいオーラを放つ人間の姿と歓喜する人々の群れが描かれています。
