街の中の岡本太郎
「天に舞う」
NHK放送センターの竣工に際し岡本太郎に依頼されたのがレリーフ壁画であるこの作品です。
現在はNHKスタジオパーク入口となっているこの場所は、岡本が作品の依頼を受けた当時、亡くなった職員を慰霊するための多目的空間でした。
岡本は放送に情熱を賭けて亡くなった人々の鎮魂の意味を込めて、男と女が天上の世界に昇天していく姿を表しました。
