「平和を呼ぶ」
この作品は、1986年船橋市が「平和都市宣言」をした際、そのシンボルとして制作された作品です。
両手を広げる人型彫刻の顔は、正面から見るとコロナを噴出させてほほ笑む女性の顔、裏から見ると沈黙する男性の顔となります。
作品には、「歴史の舞台、人間文化の肉体を、じんわり、厚みとなって支えていのは女である。女性は隠れた歴史だ」と語る岡本の平和に対する女性観が映し出されているようです。
