街の中の岡本太郎 「明日の神話」
東京・渋谷駅京王井の頭線のコンコースに設置されているのが、岡本太郎最大の壁画作品です。
広島・長崎の原爆で生じたきのこ雲やビキニ環礁で被爆したマグロ漁船「第五福竜丸」など、日本にとっての重大な出来事をモチーフに圧倒的なスケールで描かれています。
この壁画は1969年にメキシコシティのホテルロビーに描かれたものですが、30年以上行方不明となっていました。
2003年にメキシコで発見された壁画は日本に持ち帰られ、修復を経て現在の場所に設置されています。
