Our flower of the week is Crocosmia Pods! Crocosmia is native to the grasslands of Africa and is a member of the Iris family. The name comes from the Greek words Krokos meaning “saffron” and Osme meaning “odor” because the dried leaves smell like saffron!
Pollo al horno with arroz mamposteao (yellow rice mixed with beans) from Bebo’s Cafe in San Juan, Puerto Rico. You can choose your own side dish such as arroz congri (rice with black beans), tostones (fried plantains), or amarillos (sweet plantains).
