You'll be hitting the brakes more on your commute on Route 1 (Jefferson Davis Highway). The City of Alexandria is reducing the speed limit from 35 mph to 25 mph between Monroe Ave. and Four Mile Run. The reduced speed limit goes into effect Aug. 20.
