筑波大学国際関係学類卒。幼少の頃交通事故に遭い瀕死の重傷を負い一命をとりとめたものの身体が弱くなったことで自殺を考える程の酷いイジメに遭い、自分のような弱い立場の人のために何かしたいという思いが強くなる。当時の国際情勢から海外への憧れと共に国際協力への思いへとつながる。大学卒業後国際協力機構（JICA）
