本日は8代目となる大わらじの懸吊作業をしています。
大わらじとは？
東京都台東区の浅草寺宝蔵門に掲げられている大わらじは、村山市楯岡荒町の町内会がおよそ10年に一度奉納しています。この奉納は昭和16年に始まり、平成30年秋に8代目の大わらじが奉納される予定です。
掲げられている大わらじは、片方長さ4.5メートル、幅1.5メートル、重さ500キログラムもの大きさで、これは浅草寺宝蔵門の仁王様の力を表し、「このような大きなわらじを履くものがこの寺を守っているのか」と驚いて魔が去っていくと言わ
