O farol da Gibalta entrou em funcionamento em maio de 1914.
Em 1952 houve um desabamento de terras da encosta, obrigando a construir um novo farol, em 1954, a 30 metros do farol demolido.
Foi em 1981 que o farol foi automatizado, sendo que no ano 2000 f
