Iruya es un pueblo colgado de la montaña sobre la Sierra de Santa Victoria a 2780 msnm, muy cerca de la Quebrada de Humahuaca y a más de 300 kilómetros de la capital provincial. Sólo se puede acceder vía Jujuy.
