Instagram does not let you embed stories.

This is a share link from the Instagram app. Open it in your browser, then copy the post's address from the address bar and paste it here.

Paste a link to an Instagram post or reel first.

This is not an Instagram post or reel link. Example: https://www.instagram.com/p/ABC123/

Paste the code where your website builder accepts HTML. The post shows at up to 540 px wide. Your browser did not let us copy. Tap and hold in the code box, choose Select All, then Copy. Your browser did not let us copy. Click in the code box, then press Ctrl+A and Ctrl+C (Cmd+A and Cmd+C on a Mac).

Paste a link to see the post here. A long post scrolls inside the frame. If the preview says the post is unavailable, the account is private, the post was deleted, or the owner turned off website embeds. Your browser blocked Instagram's embed script, for example with an ad or tracker blocker, so the preview cannot load. The code itself is fine.

How do I embed an Instagram post on my website?

Copy the post's link, paste it into the tool above and copy the embed code. Then paste the code into an HTML or code block on your website and publish the page.

  1. On Instagram, open the post or reel and copy its link.
  2. Paste the link above, choose whether to include the caption, and click Get embed code.
  3. Click Copy code and paste it into your website where it accepts HTML.

Can I get the embed code from Instagram itself?

Yes. Open the public post in a web browser, click the ... menu and choose Embed. Instagram includes the caption unless you clear Include caption. This tool makes the embed code from the link alone, so you do not need to open the post.

What is the difference between an embed code and an Instagram feed widget?

An embed code shows one post, and it never changes. A feed widget shows your latest posts and adds new ones by itself: every 15 minutes on free SnapWidget widgets and every 5 minutes on paid plans. Read how to embed an Instagram feed or see the Instagram widget layouts.

Does the embed code work on WordPress, Squarespace and Shopify?

Yes, in any place that accepts HTML with a script. Paste it where our guides paste the SnapWidget code: a Custom HTML block in WordPress, a Code Snippet in a Squarespace Embed block, or a Custom Liquid section in Shopify.

Why does my embedded post say it is unavailable?

The account is private, the post was deleted, or the owner turned off website embeds in their Instagram settings. Instagram embeds only work for public posts.
