You can switch a personal Instagram account to a business account in the Instagram app. It is free.
For SnapWidget, a creator account works as well as a business account. If you are a person and not a company, a creator account can be the better choice.

Switch to a business account

1

Go to your profile

Open the Instagram app and tap your profile picture in the bottom right.
2

Open Account type and tools

Tap the menu icon (☰) in the top right to open Settings and activity. Then tap Account type and tools.
3

Switch to a professional account

Tap Switch to professional account. Choose the category that best describes what you do, then tap Switch to professional account.
4

Choose Business

Choose Business, then tap Next.
5

Finish the setup

Add your contact details, or tap Don’t use my contact info. Instagram then asks if you want to connect a Facebook Page. Tap Log in to Facebook to connect one now, or tap Skip.
A business account is always public. If your account is private, it becomes public when you switch.
You only need a Facebook Page if you want to use Sign In With Facebook in SnapWidget, for example for a hashtag widget. To link a Page later:
  1. On your Instagram profile, tap Edit profile.
  2. Under Public business information, tap Page, then tap Connect or create.
  3. Tap Continue, then tap Log in to Facebook and follow the steps.
  4. Choose your Page and tap Connect. Or tap Create a new Facebook Page.
You need full control of the Facebook Page to link it. For more help, see Meta’s guide to connect a Facebook Page to your Instagram account.

Connect your widget

After you switch, connect your account in SnapWidget. Open your widget from your dashboard, click Reconnect (or Connect on a new widget), then click Sign In With Instagram or Sign In With Facebook. Click Update & Get Widget to save. You do not need to change the code on your website.
