A Google source imports the Google reviews of a business. You find the business by its name, so you do not need to log in to Google. You can add the reviews of any business, for example the business of a client.
1

Add a source

Log in to SnapWidget. Click Sources in the sidebar, then click Add Source.
2

Choose Google

Under Reviews, click Google.
3

Find your business

In Business name and town, type the name of your business and its town, for example Little Oven Bakery, Cape Town. Click Search, or press Enter. SnapWidget shows the businesses that Google Maps finds, with their address and rating.
4

Choose your business

Click your business in the list. Then click Import Reviews.
5

Wait for the import

The import takes a minute or two. Then the reviews show on the page of the source. Your widgets show them at once. You do not need to approve the reviews of the first import.
If your business is not in the list, add the street or the town to the name and search again.

What SnapWidget imports

SnapWidget imports the 100 newest Google reviews that have text. For each review, SnapWidget imports:
  • The name of the reviewer
  • The photo of the reviewer
  • The star rating
  • The text of the review, in the language that the reviewer wrote it in
  • The date of the review
  • A link to the review on Google
A rating without text is not imported, but it counts in the average rating. The page of the source shows the average rating and the number of ratings that Google shows for your business. The rating badge of your widget shows them too. SnapWidget copies each photo to its own storage at once. If a photo does not load, the widget shows the initials of the reviewer.

New reviews

SnapWidget syncs your Google source every 3 days. Each sync reads the 100 newest reviews of your business. To sync at once, open the source and click Sync Now. On the Sources page, you can also open the menu of the source and click Sync Now. After each sync that adds new reviews, SnapWidget sends you an email. What happens to the new reviews depends on the Auto-approve switch, next to Sync Now on the page of the source: See Approve new Google and G2 reviews.
When you hide a Google review, it stays hidden. A later sync does not show it again.
